About Me.
Appointed to Cornwall on Hudson Village Trustee position in 2023 and elected in 2024.

On our Village Board I am an active police dept liaison keeping informed on new purchases, new hires, and updates regarding the safety in our community. I create a seamless connection between our police dept and our COH Elementary School, located in our village.
I have planned and executed many events over the years in our Village including our very first Jr. Ball Drop on New Years Eve. One of our most cherished additions to an already family fun filled community. I take great pride in our own Storm King Fire Engine, myself being a proud daughter of a life-long Volunteer FireFighter. I am also part of our NY Forward committee, helping to facilitate a strong understanding of the Grant and its possibilities.

My Announcement Letter for 2026

Dear Editor,

I am proud to announce my candidacy for reelection to the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Board of Trustees in the upcoming March 18, 2026, Village election.
In September 2023, I was honored when Mayor James Gagliano appointed me to fill a vacancy on the Village Board. Then, in March 2024, I was deeply grateful when residents of our community elected me to a full term. To be supported by citizens who trust you with their vote is a responsibility I value every day. I have lived in Cornwall my entire life and plan to stay—this is my home. I am committed to keeping our deep-rooted history alive while still encouraging and enabling healthy growth, ensuring our village remains a place where tradition and progress go hand in hand.
Over the past three years on the Board, I have continued to take the time to listen and learn from residents, colleagues, and experts alike. I have spent many dedicated hours focusing on critical areas that shape our village's future: carefully reviewing and balancing our budget to maintain fiscal responsibility; investigating and urging proper and fair building codes to ensure safe, thoughtful development; addressing staffing needs across departments; and strongly supporting our Fire Department and Police Department to enhance public safety and emergency preparedness. I take pride in my ability to connect our local government with community members in unmatched ways— acting as a bridge that turns conversations into action, bringing neighbor voices directly to the Board table, and building trust through open, ongoing dialogue. Every day, I work to truly listen to our community’s needs and let them inform our decisions and processes.
As a parent of five children ranging in ages from 8 to 20, and the proud daughter of a lifelong volunteer firefighter who taught me the true meaning of selfless community service, these priorities are deeply personal. My heavy involvement in local PTOs and other volunteer committees has further strengthened these vital bridges between government and the people we serve. If re-elected, I will continue to prioritize a sensible government, community input, essential services, public safety, and the close-knit spirit that makes Cornwall-on-Hudson such a special place to live and raise a family.
Thank you for the conversations, feedback, and support you’ve given me throughout my service. I humbly ask for your vote on March 18, 2026, so I can continue serving our Village by listening, connecting, amplifying your voice, honoring our history, guiding healthy growth, and delivering results that help us all thrive together.
Sincerely,
Lori Beth Paliotta
Cornwall-on-Hudson Village Trustee
